Homes by Vanderbuilt is a licensed general contractor and modular home builder in North Carolina. Modular homes are built in sections, transported to the building site on truck beds, and then assembled by local contractors. Homes by Vanderbuilt has been in the modular housing business since 1984 and are privileged to have served thousands of satisfied homeowners.

We currently offer a selection of over 120 modular home plans that we can build on your lot in much of NC as well as parts of SC and VA. All of our modular homes are crane-set, meet or exceed the local residential building codes and construction standards for storms and hurricanes.

Modular Home Construction Standards

In 1994, HUD amended the Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards to provide for greater protection for manufactured homes from wind damage. During the severe hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005, no mobile/manufactured home that was built after these new standards went into effect sustained any significant structural damage from the storms.
